Happy Birthday

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my Sister-in-Laws Birthday.  I chose one of the images from the Paris Collection by Julia Spiri.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. (Colors listed below).  I added some Crystal Clear Sparkle Pen to the Cupcakes and the sentiment before coating them in a thick layer of Glossy Accents.

I cut the flowers and leaves out on the Silhouette and used Distress Inks to color them. I added a small enamel dot to the centers of each and a little bit of the Clear Sparkle pen to the edges of the petals.

Festive Friday 2018 #1

It's the first Friday of 2018!

That means it's time to start a year of Festive Fridays.

I've set myself a goal to make at least one Christmas card each week for the whole year. Then when Christmas rolls around again, I'll be all set to mail out cards without the stress of trying to make 50 cards in just a few weeks (or days!).

On my first card I used the "Snowman Family" image from Bugaboo Stamps.  I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and outlined the image with a Silver Spica Glitter pen. I used a white gel pen to add snowflakes over the image.

I cut the sentiment from Silver Matte Metallic paper so that it would really pop on the dark background.  I also cut the snowflakes from the same paper.

Below is the full color palette for this card.

Next Friday I'll share another card I made with this same image. Have a great weekend!

Bookmark For My Little Reader

My oldest daughter has become quite the reader. She will read anything she get her hands on. At only 7, I'm pretty impressed by her reading skills. And I am so glad she is developing such a love for books, I hope that stays with her forever.

She has started reading chapter books and got a few of them for Christmas. I decided it was time for her to have a proper bookmark.

I used the image "Lucy Loo Bookaholic" by the East Wind, colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

After coloring, I added some drops of rubbing alcohol over the background. Once that was dry I used a white gel pen to add the stars to the background.

I finished the bookmark by laminating it and adding a yellow shimmering bow to the top.

Here is the color palette I used for this project:

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Today I have a New Year's card to share with you.

Every year I make my sister a card with this image from Bugaboo Stamps. I also always use black and gold, sometimes it's a challenge to come up with something different than what I have done in the past. That kind of makes it fun though.

This year I decided to use the background and colors from the December 2016 Monthly Class at Kit & Clowder. I colored it all with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and used a white gel pen to add some sparkling details. I have my full color palette below.

I cut the 2018 from glittered cardstock with my Solhouette machine. I also added a little bit of Glossy Accents to the hat, balloon & champagne glass.

I hope you all have a wonderful, happy and creative New Year!
